American Woman

Taken in my own yard on the butterfly bush that I have there specifically to attract butterflies and hummingbirds, I happened upon this beautiful specimen. Although I do wish I'd had my 105mm on the camera, I made do with my 70-300, knowing that I could get a nice smooth depth of field behind it to be a great contrast to the purple flowers. This one let me take a couple photos of it before it fluttered off, having gotten the nectar it wanted from the flowers and leaving me pleased.
