Everett Road Covered Bridge - Summit County
On my way to a hike in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park yesterday, I made a detour to visit this landmark. It's believed to have been built sometime between 1867 and 1877 due to the truss pattern. It seems that Ohio has the largest concentration of covered bridges still in existence, with there being upwards of 125 still in the state.
To get this shot, I did some off-trail trekking to the sandy, rocky bed below of Furnace Run and am fairly pleased with the results. The day had started out so gloomy and overcast, but by the time I arrived here the skies were clearing up and I had plenty of sunshine to keep me warm!
