Dying Love

Taken in my back yard, this is actually one of the yellow roses I have that when I gave it the sepia tones I loved how it looked.

Yellow roses at one time in Europe had negative meanings of jealousy and dying love, which may originate from a 7th century fable about Mohammed--he was concerned his wife was unfaithful so Gabriel suggested that he have her drop whatever she was carrying into a pool. If they changed color, it would prove her infidelity. When he came home, she was carrying white roses and obeyed his command; when the roses floated to the top they had turned a saffron yellow color, proving her guilt.

I'm glad that this particular meaning has gone away and it has a much lovlier and warm meaning now!
