Took this last night as it was rising over the treeline. I thought about adjusting the white balance on this to make it more silvery but the fact of the matter is that when the photo was taken, it had an orange-ish hue to it, so I left it "as shot".

According to Farmer's Almanac:

July is normally the month when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur. It was also often called the Full Thunder Moon, for the reason that thunderstorms are most frequent during this time.

Funny....our weatherman just mentioned that this was the Full Buck Moon month! Cool! Nice shot too! Somehow, I've never been able yet to shoot one of these! My friend, :iconstarmaiden: has, but not me. Yes, I'm just a tad jealous of you guys....

LOL I promise not to tell her...she has a gorgeous gallery though!! After seeing the full moon name in one of my Farmer's Almanac emails, I thought it would be cool to take pictures of them. June I failed at because we had cloudy weather for it, but ah well! =)

Beautiful picture! I was hoping to take one myself the other day, but I was in the car driving home from Louisville when the moon was at its most beautiful stage! My "attempts" resulted in several pictures with multiple orange dots in them. Mostly I was just playing around with the camera in the back seat of the car to entertain myself, hoping that one of them just MIGHT turn out!
