Here's a Llama, There's a Llama

Description

Taken at the Akron Zoo - Akron, OH

Llamas are fun animals, they have such interesting personalities and if they're not happy with you, by golly, they'll tell you! I always love to swing by their enclosure to see what they're up to. On this day they were actually very photogenic, while one of them avoided the rain by staying by the heat lamp and hay in the barn, this one was totally unconcerned about it and hung out in the elements.

I had several photos, but liked the expression on this one the best, despite the fact that I cut off the tips of the ears--I should have either widened it up or gone in closer instead of half-assing this composure. But hopefully you can forgive me this for the love of the photo. =D

Llamas are well-socialized and easily trainable, often repeating learned tasks after only a few repetitions. They are very friendly to humans and will often approach them without fear, though if they're raised from the bottle, they can get aggressive and spit on humans since they will see them as part of the herd and/or another llama.

Great shot! but I'm sorry to say that it’s an alpaca not a llama.
The easiest way to tell is by the ears; Alpacas have smaller and straighter ears, llamas have banana shaped ears. Llamas are also a fair bit bigger than alpacas and have a longer and flatter face.

...though it is very DA appropriate if it were a llama ^^.
