Taken at Akron Zoological Park - Akron, OH
This is another photo of one of the bald eagles at the Akron Zoo that I was extremely pleased how the photo turned out. By underexposing the photo, this helped to keep its white head from getting blown out while making the background nice and dark. The only adjustments to this were some white balance and brightness/contrast always necessary when working with RAW.
Eagles are renowned for their superior vision with the rods and cones being concentrated in the top part of their eyes, making them ideal for looking down to find its prey. The shelf that you see above its eyes gives it natural protection against the glare of the sun.
