Puppy on Patrol

Yesterday we got our first real snow that did more than just dust the ground and Emma was very very very excited about all that white stuff on the ground. In fact, it's still on the ground miraculously and she's still very very very excited about it. Our house is extremely whiny right now because she wants to go outside again--nevermind that she'd just been out two minutes earlier.

Yesterday morning was certainly a very exciting time for Emma as she caught her first glimpse of snow as it came down fairly heavy, and grew even more exciting as we let her out into it. She spent a lot of time sniffing, licking and eating the snow everywhere. At first I was just out letting her go potty, but I eventually put her on her line and got out my camera (DUH! LOL). Most of my photos were of her sniffing the ground, but she would hear a noise every so often and stand up to see what it was, which is when I snapped this photo.

The funny thing is, I'm so used to photographing dark subjects where I have to under-expose my photo, that when I began processing these, I realized that the camera wants to underexpose naturally and for white subjects, especially on white, I want to over-expose! In any event, I have a very pretty puppy who isn't yet sick of the camera like my cats are.
