Cedar Falls - Hocking Hills Park, Ohio

Cedar Falls is my, hands down, favorite waterfall of the park. It's probably only second to the falls around Old Man's Cave for people to come and view, but there is something about this valley that really calls to my soul. It might be because people can't necessarily get behind the falls to ruin my shots, but I think it's just one of those places that soothes the soul.

Cedar Falls was near a trading post that was just downstream of it in the 1800's, with a cavern nearby that settlers and Indians alike were able to get saltpeter, often used in curing meat. According to various sites, the place becomes positively magical in the winter when snow decorates the hemlocks and the falls turn into a stream of icicles. You can bet I'll be back in the winter to see this!
