Next in the line of the Martini series, almost obligatory that I do it, is my Valentine's Martini. I got the idea for it while I was taking the photos of the roses in the snow, but I wasn't happy with the results because I was working in too light an environment to get that dark background. Tonight I went and bought some more roses with some baby's breath and worked on the lighting with a single umbrella light, a couple desk lamps and a greeting card to block any residual glare.
I wasn't entirely happy with my original shot, so I went back and re-shot and I am much happier with the overall effect--the colors are much more saturated and although the baby's breath is still bright it's not blindingly glaring. I really needed the cooler light from my umbrella light and keeping as much direct light off of the rose as possible from the desk lights to get the result I wanted.

This is awesome! I'd like to ask "Permission Of Use" for the International Valentine's Day issue! All proper credentials would be given, of course. So I have 2 questions for you; 1) May I use this image, and 2) What country are you from? Also, take a look at my page here on DeviantART. I went international for Halloween, too...
