Description
Taken at the Cincinnati Zoo - Cincinnati, OH
This is the Sand Cat, a wild cat native to the deserts of Africa and Asia. They are solitary cats for the most part, usually eating rodents and lizards which is where they get the majority of their water. Their ears are shaped so that they can hear even the soft scritching of a rodent digging in the sand. They are not a territorial sort and will often take over the burrow of another Sand Cat who has moved on.
This one looks like a bored husband saying "Yes, Dear, I'm still listening."
