Yo Adrian! by tleach0608 Yo Adrian! by tleach0608
Taken at the Akron Dog Park (Cascade Valley Park) - Akron, OH

Going to any dog park will be a two-person job for me because I need my husband to be there for Emma while I play with and photograph everyone's dogs. =D This beauty is equal bits pitbull and boxer and all sweetness! She goes by the name Adrian (get it? Boxer? Adrian???? I congratulated her owner on his cleverness) and Emma played around with her a lot and then she'd come trotting up to me to get some love and attention.

Pit bulls get a very bad rap for being aggressive dogs, but with the correct environment and human feedback they are as sweet as can be. Cesar Milan himself has a whole pack of pit bulls that are used for dog rehabilitation, so that says a lot.

I was almost tempted to make this into a fourth PSA: Puppies Need Attentions, but I'm feeling a little lazy. =D

I think they are wonderful...though not for me because I like mine FLUFFY!! But that doesn't mean I don't mind giving them some love and getting some pitbull kissies whenever possible. =D They are an amazing, awesome breed, no doubt.

Yes, that's mostly what we get at the shelter =( But, we have an excellent adoption rate =D I'm considering one myself right now, she's 10 & her name is Angel ;)

It's just so sad that people get dogs without even really researching if the breed is right for them...or even knowing what a large commitment it really is. It's like having a baby! When my husband and I decided on the Pyrenees, it was after a lot of research, thought about our lifestyle and activity level, and discussion because we wanted to make the decision responsibly. You should adopt her, I'll bet she lives up to her name. =D

You went about it the right way :iconawesomejobplz:
She IS very sweet & good with other animals. That's why I'm looking for an older dog, because I'm at work & the shelter so much, I need a dog that just wants to watch TV from the couch all day and then have some companionship at night. Also, want to give an older dog a happy, loving home for his/her remaining years :iconmybestfriendplz:

Man...it's a lot of work! I have less time to myself than I did when I worked 65-70 hours a week! But I'm really loving it. =D
