It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Finally, a new Journal!

I figured I might as well get off my ass and update my journal, since the last time was when I got my DD.  Despite my quiet, ninja-like activity here on dA, I have been around, lurking through things and taking photos.  Granted, I had a momentary (read: three weeks) addiction to Skyrim, but I had to quit cold turkey because I was spending every free moment on it.  Bad Taryn!

But the diversion is past and I have been enjoying this OH so nice Ohio weather--nothing like last week running around in 68 degree weather, then getting six inches of snow this weekend, and then looking forward to 60 degree weather tomorrow too.  LOL  But the nice days have allowed me to take Emma to a nearby dog-park where I realized that taking her there must be a two person job.  Because I need my husband to watch her and play with her while I take photos of the dogs there!  =)  

I also have made two trips up to the Cleveland Botanical Garden for their Orchid Mania this year.  Despite my disappointment at how much less flowers there were this year, I got many photos that made me excited, and I was glad I did a pre-visit by myself before going up with a friend, as it let me really focus in (no pun intended!) on some better photos the second time.  

So those are my updates!  Life is really boring, I go to school, do homework, try to work in taking photos, sleep and then repeat all over.  LOL
